Clemson Rowing Competes at Michigan State

CLEMSON, SC – The Clemson rowing team competed against Michigan State and Tennessee on Saturday at Lake Ovid in East Lansing, MI. The Tigers won the Novice 8+ in 6:58.09, defeating Michigan State by four seconds.

The Tigers were second in the Varsity 8+ with a time of 6:38.45. Michigan State won the race in 6:30.0, and Tennessee was third in 6:49.54. In the Varsity 4+, Michigan State took first in 7:34.83, and Clemson was second in 7:46.35. Tennessee placed third in 7:54.89.

Clemson won the second Novice 8+ race in 7:19.60, and Tennessee was second in 7:23.69. In the second Varsity 8+ the Tigers were second with a time of 6:56.65. Michigan State won the race in 6:43.1, and the Volunteers placed third with a time of 7:01.55.

“I was pleased with the performance of our women,” said head coach Susie Lueck. “They handled the pressure of the events very well. It is always really good to race against a fast crew like Michigan State.”

The ACC Championships will be held on Lake Hartwell next Saturday.
