Clemson Returns to Course Saturday

CLEMSON, SC – Clemson will make its first appearance in the Wolfpack Spring Open this weekend. The Tigers will be one of 13 teams who will compete in the 36-hole, two-day event at the Lonnie Poole Golf Course in Raleigh, NC. Boston College, Duke, and NC State are the other ACC teams in the tournament that will play on the par 72 course that is 7358 yards in length.

Clemson will have three freshmen, a sophomore and a senior in its lineup this weekend.

Stephen Behr is Clemson’s top golfer in terms of stroke average with a 72.71 figure. He has a team best three top 10 finishes and three rounds in the 60s, best on the Clemson team.

Miller Capps is second on the team with a 74.00 average, while Cody Proveaux is third at 74.08. There is just a two stroke difference between Capps ad Proveaux for the year. Both freshmen have played in every tournament this year.

Crawford Reeves is fourth on the team in stroke average for the year at 74.29, but he has a 73.25 average in the spring. Reeves is a veteran of 36 tournaments and 107 total rounds in his four-year career.

Sophomore Billy Kennerly rounds out the Clemson lineup with a 75.60 stroke average.

This will be Clemson’s last tournament before the ACC Tournament, which will start next Friday.  This is the first time Clemson has played a tournament just one week prior to the ACC Tournament since 1999.
