Clemson Remains No. 2 in College Football Playoff Poll

Clemson, S.C.—Clemson remains second in the latest College Football Playoff Poll released on Tuesday evening. The Tigers remain behind Alabama and just head of No. 3 Michigan and No. 4 Washington.

The Tigers have been ranked in the top two in the nation in each of the last eight College Football Playoff polls. Dabo Swinney’s team was first in each of the six rankings last year and has been No. 2 in the first two this year. Clemson has been ranked in the top 25 of all 15 College Football Playoff polls since the system began in 2014.

Clemson has wins over No. 6 Louisville, No. 9 Auburn and No. 18 Florida State.   Clemson, Michigan and Ohio State are the only schools with three wins over teams currently ranked in the College Football Playoff Poll.  

The Tigers meet Pittsburgh at Memorial Stadium on Saturday at 3:30. It will be Pittsburgh’s first trip to Clemson and just the second meeting in history between the two schools. Clemson is 9-0 so far this season, while the Panthers are 5-4.

Clemson enters the game with a 23-game winning streak in regular season games, 21-game winning streak at home and 15 in a row in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Clemson has the longest home winning streak in the nation and the conference wining streak is second. The Tigers have won 26 of their last 27 games overall.
