National Poll — Week 2
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — In the second week of the United Soccer Coaches’ national poll, Clemson has fallen one spot to now rank third amongst the nation’s top-five teams.
This is the Tigers’ eighth-consecutive week ranked amongst the top five, a streak which started on Oct. 22, 2019. This is Clemson’s 174th week within the poll’s top five.
The ACC is represented in four of the five spots this week. Wake Forest remains atop the rankings, while Pittsburgh now occupies the second position. Both sides won their respective season openers this past week. The University of Kentucky now ranks fourth with a 2-1-0 record through their opening three matches, while Virginia ranks fifth as they wait to open their season on Oct. 3 at Virginia Tech.
Clemson will play Wake Forest in two matches this season. The Tigers will welcome the Demon Deacons to Historic Riggs Field on Oct. 13 at 7 p.m. To conclude its regular season, Clemson will travel to Winston-Salem, N.C., to play against Wake Forest on Oct. 30 at 5 p.m.
Clemson will travel to Columbia, S.C., on Oct. 1 to open its season against the South Carolina Gamecocks. The match will start at 7 p.m. and can be viewed via Gamecock All-Access.
