Clemson Ranked No. 11 In Collegiate Baseball Preseason Poll

CLEMSON, S.C. — Clemson is ranked #11 in Collegiate Baseball’s Preseason poll.

The Tigers are coming off a 42-27 season in 1999 in which they came just three outs from a College World Series appearance. Clemson returns seven position starters and 19 lettermen overall.

Junior outfielder Patrick Boyd was selected as a Louisville Slugger Preseason Second-Team All-American announced by the staff of Collegiate Baseball newspaper on Wednesday. Boyd, who was recently picked as the #2 college prospect for the 2000 Major League Draft by Baseball America, hit .390 with 17 homers and 70 RBIs a season ago.
