Clemson Ranked 21st In Recruiting Poll

September 30, 1998

Tucson, AZ–The Clemson baseball program is ranked 21st in Collegiate Baseball newspaper’s 1998 compilation of top NCAA Division I recruiting classes across the USA.

The list is compiled using a scoring system that awards points to schools who have recruits that were drafted, received All-American, all-state, and all-conference recognition as well as points for Players of the Year nationally or statewide. The rankings only reflect players who have come to school and do not include athletes who signed pro contracts after initially signing letters of intent.

Clemson’s 1998 recruiting class includes 13 freshmen and two transfers. Clemson coach Jack Leggett and his staff hope this class will contribute to a team that is looking to eclipse the 40-win plateau for the 13th straight time in 1999.
