Clemson Places Sixth at ACC Rowing Championship

CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson rowing program wrapped up its 2018 spring campaign with a sixth-place finish at the Lake Hartwell-hosted ACC Rowing Championship. The Tigers qualified for the grand final in three of the five events (1V8, 1V4 and 2V4), with their best finish of fourth coming in the 1V4.

Virginia won its ninth straight and 18th overall title, taking first place in all five grand finals and earning 99 points. The rest of the field finished as follows: Syracuse (77 points), Duke (72 points), Notre Dame (69 points), Louisville (64 points), Clemson (41 points), North Carolina (29 points) and Boston College and Miami ended competition tied with 22 points.

Clemson’s best two finishes in the morning heats placed them sixth in both the 1V8 and the 1V4, with Emily Goff coxswaining the former to a time of 6:36.392 and Megan Kauffeld leading the latter to a time of 7:26.107. Kauffeld’s crew was the one that went on to earn fourth place in its respective grand final.
