Clemson No. 27 Following First NQS Release

Clemson, S.C. – Following its highest score in the inaugural season against North Carolina on Friday, the Clemson gymnastics team checks in at No. 27 following the first NQS Ranking of the season. The Tigers hold a 196.290 National Qualifying Score (NQS). 

NQS is based on a team’s six best regular season scores, three of which must be away. The overall high score is eliminated, and the five remaining scores are averaged. NQS scores are used to determine seeding for NCAA regional competition.

The top five nationally remained unchanged as the Tigers’ next opponent, Oklahoma (198.270), LSU (197.845) and California (197.810) make up the top three. Utah (197.645) currently sits in fourth and Florida (197.600) sits at No. 5.

Regionally, the Tigers are fourth in the rankings, behind Florida (197.600), Georgia (196.620), and NC State (196.520). 

The Tigers return to action on Sunday, March 3, in their first quad meet of the season, taking on No. 1 Oklahoma, Texas Woman’s and Penn. The teams take the floor at 2:00 pm CT (3:00 pm ET).
