Clemson Men’s Soccer Alumni Spring Game

April 18, 2010

CLEMSON, SC–The varsity men’s soccer team needed an injury time penalty save from senior J.D. Spearman to preserve a 5-4 win over the Alumni in the annual Varsity-Alumni match at Historic Riggs Field last Saturday afternoon.

Michael Brooks scored two goals for the alums and Bryson Moore chipped in with one while David Torres and 1984 national championship goalkeeper Shawn Cartmill were strong at the back.

A video presentation celebrating the glorious past of the program was shown afterwards in the locker room and a DVD copy given to each alumni.

Check the Clemson Tigers website in the following few days to view the video yourself. Finally, a post game barbeque with the woman’s soccer team and alumni was enjoyed underneath the grandstands reinforcing the statement of Clemson Soccer.

The Clemson Tiger Staff was grateful to all alumni who participated or came back to watch the spirited contest and believes this annual event will grow and flourish in the years to come.
