Clemson Marketing Companies To Join Forces

May 9, 2002

Greenville, SC – Clemson Tiger Sports Properties, LLC, a joint venture between Learfield Communications and ISP Sports, announced today it has reached a five-year agreement with Clemson Sports Network, Inc. to purchase the company’s advertising rights for Memorial Stadium’s west endzone scoreboard and “PawVision” video screen. Under the agreement, Clemson Tiger Sports Properties will assume Clemson Sports Network’s exclusive rights to sell advertising on the scoreboard and screen.

“This is truly a win-win agreement,” said Michael Whitaker, president of Clemson Sports Network. “With this agreement, Clemson Tiger Sports Properties is bringing all of the main marketing opportunities associated with Clemson football under one roof. For the first time in several years advertisers will be able to experience ‘one-stop’ shopping for “PawVision” signage, radio and television advertising.” Mr. Whitaker has been retained by Clemson Tiger Sports Properties, LLC as a marketing and programming consultant. “I have been very impressed with the people at Clemson Tiger Sports Properties,” remarked Whitaker. “Their commitment to Clemson Athletics is impressive and I want to do anything I can to help them succeed.” Also, as part of the agreement, Whitaker has agreed to suspend production of his successful television program “Inside Tiger Sports – Unauthorized.” “On the one hand, I’m sad about ending production of our show. “Inside Tiger Sports” was a big hit with the fans and a lot of fun to create,” said Whitaker. “We’re confident, however, that joining forces with Clemson Tiger Sports Properties will enable them to produce programming that satisfies every Clemson fan and, in turn, provide a single television vehicle for advertisers to reach the Clemson fan base.”

“Clemson Tiger Sports Properties is very excited about our finalized agreement with Mr. Whitaker and CSN,” said David Hubbard, General Manager of Clemson Tiger Sports Properties. “We are very appreciative of Mr. Whitaker and impressed with the job he has done representing Clemson Athletics and we look forward to the opportunity to work with him in the future.”
