Clemson Improves to No. 14 in Latest Golf Coaches Poll

Clemson, S.C.—Clemson has moved from 21st to 14th in the latest Bushnell Golfweek Coaches Poll.   The Tigers have also improved to 15th in the latest Sagarin Ranking and 16th in the most recent Golfstat ranking.

 

Clemson has won each of its last three tournaments, the Ka’anapali Classic in Hawaii to close the fall schedule, then the Puerto Rico Classic and the Palmetto Intercollegiate this spring.   It marks the first time in Clemson men’s golf history that the Tigers have won three consecutive tournaments.    

 

Clemson won the Palmetto Intercollegiate this past Tuesday with a one-shot victory over Virginia, the No. 2 team in the latest Golfweek Coaches Poll and No. 3 by Golfstat.

 

Individually, freshman Doc Redman is the top ranked Tiger with a No. 15 individual ranking by Golfweek and a No. 27 rating by Golfstat. He leads the Tigers in stroke average at 70.05 through seven events.

 

Bryson Nimmer, a sophomore, is ranked No 59 by Golfweek and No. 56 by Golfstat. Senior Carson Young is a third Clemson golfer in the latest top 100. The native of Pendleton is No. 78 by Golfweek and No. 80 by Golfstat.

 

Clemson goes for its fourth straight tournament victory at the Furman Invitational in Greenville, S.C. on March 24-26.
