CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson men’s tennis program is gearing up to compete in the ITA Carolina Regional Championships, held from Thursday, Oct. 16 through Monday, Oct. 20 at Cary Tennis Park in Cary, N.C. The tournament will feature 138 players from across the region, including nine members of Clemson’s squad.

Racket Fire Facts

  • As a pair, Bladelius and Plunger won the Blue Gray National Tennis Classic after defeating Ole Miss 2-1 to kick off the fall season.
    • Bladelius earned Blue Gray Tournament MVP honors.
  • Chérié Lignière and Nittmann also competed in the Blue Gray National Tennis Classic, placing third in the blue draw.
  • Pitts was the Furman UTR College Circuit champion after winning all five of his matches.
  • Bladelius and Vukadin reached the furthest round of the ITA All-American Championships, playing in the main draw doubles consolation semifinals.
    • Also competing in ITA All-Americans, Markov won in the round of 32 qualifier, defeating Georgia Tech’s Christophe Clement 6-1 6-3.
  • Gales played in the M15 ITF Future, where he won the second round 6-3 6-2.
    • Gales and Markov also won in the doubles main draw first round 7-6(5) 6-2 at the M15.
  • Farzam and Mesarovic won The Battle on the Plains Tournament, posting a combined singles record of 5-1 and doubles record of 2-1.
  • Chérié Lignière was the UTR PTT champion this past weekend, where he defeated fellow Tiger Vukadin 1-6 6-3 6-4 to claim the title.
