Clemson Finishes Fourth at Blessings Collegiate

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. —Andrew Swanson and Jonathan Nielsen each turned in one-under-par rounds of 71 on Wednesday to help lead Clemson to a fourth-place finish at the Blessings Collegiate Invitational at the Blessings Golf Club. Clemson took fourth in the 11-team national field with an 882 final score.

Texas A&M won the event finishing 11-under-par as a team with an 853 score. Ole Miss took second with a nine-over-par 873 and the host Arkansas Razorbacks finished +11 in third place.

Swanson’s 71 included three birdies and one eagle. He tied for 11th overall in the individual standings. Nielsen also finished with a 71 in a final round that included five birdies.

Nielsen was the Tigers’ highest finishing individual and took ninth.

Zack Gordon finished three-over-par on Wednesday with four birdies, while Kian Rose totaled three birdies with a round of four-over-par.

The Tigers return on Oct. 21 when they travel to the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate.
