CLEMSON, S.C. – Clemson University men’s basketball dropped its first-round matchup in the 2023 NIT to Morehead State 68-64.
The Tigers (23-11) were led by Chase Hunter (Atlanta, Ga./Westlake) who tallied 18 points on 6-of-11 shooting. PJ Hall (Spartanburg, S.C./Dorman) netted 13 points while grabbing seven boards. Hall set a new career high with five blocks in the contest.
Ian Schieffelin (Loganville, Ga./Grayson) set up his teammates tonight as the sophomore dished out five assists. Schieffelin scored seven points and brought in six rebounds. First-Team All-ACC selection Hunter Tyson (Monroe, N.C./Piedmont) led the team with 11 rebounds and was one point shy of his 17th double-double.
Clemson led by as many as 15 in the first half, but an 18-5 run by the Eagles (22-11) closed the Tigers’ halftime lead to just two. The Eagles outscored the Tigers by six in the second half to grab a lead late and hold on to win.
