CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) – Robert Hite scored 24 points and Miami shot nearly 68 percent in the second half as the Hurricanes beat Clemson 83-77 on Saturday.

Miami (15-7, 6-5 Atlantic Coast Conference) scored on 10 of its final 13 possessions, including seven trips in a row after the Tigers tied it at 63 with seven minutes to go.

The Hurricanes shot 58.2 percent (32-of-55) for the game and 67.7 percent (21-of-31) in the second half, including making six of 11 3-pointers in the final 20 minutes. Clemson shot 43.8 percent (28-of-64) from the field.

Miami’s guards scored all but two of the Hurricanes’ 52 points in the second half as they kept their NCAA tournament hopes alive.

Clemson (11-12, 2-9) led by as much as 13 in the first half before Miami went on a 12-3 run in just over four minutes to cut the Tigers’ lead to 35-31 at the break.

Clemson must win four of its last six games to be eligible for an NIT bid.

Shawan Robinson led the Tigers with 21 points. Sharrod Ford added 16 points and pulled down eight rebounds.

Anthony Harris added 15 points, while Anthony King scored 14 points and pulled down 12 rebounds for the Hurricanes.
