PJ Hall Nets 14th 20-point game of season in loss.

Final Stats

WASHINGTON – Clemson University men’s basketball fell to Boston College in the second round of the ACC Tournament on Wednesday night 76-55.

The Tigers (21-11) were led by PJ Hall (Spartanburg, S.C./Dorman) who finished with 21 points. Joseph Girard III (Glens Falls, N.Y./Glens Falls) joined Hall in double-figures for the Tigers with 13 points.

With three 3-pointers in the game, Girard moved into second place all-time at Clemson with 96 threes in a single season. He trails Terrell McIntyre (Raeford, N.C./Hoke County) who holds the record of 99 achieved during his 1998-99 senior campaign.

Boston College jumped out to an early 18-9 lead on Clemson in the opening stanza, but the Tigers fought back with an 8-0 run to cut the lead to just one. However, the Eagles answered that with a 14-1 run and would eventually lead at halftime by 12.

The closest the Tigers got was 10 points the rest of the way.

Clemson will await its fate on Selection Sunday (March 17) for its seed placement in the 2024 NCAA Tournament.
