Clemson Falls 1-0 to No. 10 N.C. State on the Road Friday Night

CLEMSON, S.C. The Clemson University men’s soccer team (6-3-2, 3-1-1) fell 1-0 to No. 10 N.C. State Friday night in Raleigh. This was the first time Clemson lost to N.C. State since 2017, and only the second time since 2010.

Joseph Andema recorded four saves in goal for the Tigers, seeing 14 total shots taken. His four saves put him at 30 on the year and 164 in his career.

How it Happened

Clemson and N.C. State battled for the first 45 minutes with the teams finishing the half tied 0-0. The Tigers were outshot 6-8 with the Wolf Pack having three shots on goal. All three shots on goal were saved by Clemson goalkeeper Joseph Andema.

N.C. State’s game-winning goal came in the 53rd minute, when Frankie DeFrancesco struck to give the Wolf Pack a 1-0 lead.

The Tigers finished with nine shots (one on goal), four saves and one corner attempt.
