CLEMSON, S.C. – Clemson Women’s Tennis Fall 2024 recruitment class has been ranked No. 7 in the nation by The Tennis Recruiting Network on Monday, June 3. This class is the highest-ranked class since 2012.
The 2024 recruiting class includes standout athletes Annabelle Davis, Kinsey Crawford, Romana Čisovská, and Candela Yécora, adding to an already impressive group of recruits announced last fall. These players bring a wealth of experience, talent, and academic excellence to Clemson’s women’s tennis program.
Annabelle Davis, a transfer from the University of North Florida, has had a stellar career, highlighted by her two-time ASUN Championship titles and a national ranking of No. 105 in January 2024. With an overall singles record of 60-26 and a doubles record of 31-20, Davis has proven her capability to compete at a high level. “Annabelle is a coach’s dream,” said Coach Saia. “She’s dedicated and has a work ethic that is second to none.”
Kinsey Crawford from Tampa, Florida, has demonstrated exceptional potential, having been in the top 100 rankings in the state and participating in the ITF junior tour and ITA summer circuit. “Kinsey has uncharted energy and will bring daily effort and competitiveness to our program,” Saia remarked. Crawford is also a musician, blackbelt, and passionate youth volunteer, showcasing her diverse talents off the court.
Romana Čisovská, a transfer from Oklahoma University, brings a world-class tennis resume, including a career-high ITF junior ranking of 45 and WTA rankings of 747 in singles and 863 in doubles. “Romana will immediately impact our program,” said Saia. “Her experience in Junior Grand Slams and ITF tournaments aligns with our vision.”
Candela Yécora from Seville, Spain, is an incoming freshman with the highest ITF juniors ranking of 152 and two Andalusian Junior Championship titles. “Candela’s best tennis is ahead of her,” stated Saia. “She will be an instant fit with our team culture.”
Clemson Women’s Tennis is poised for a successful year on the courts with these talented additions. Coach Saia and his staff have worked tirelessly to recruit top-tier talent, reflecting their commitment to building a competitive and dynamic program. “Having a top-10 recruiting class is an excellent tribute to our staff and the work they have put in,” said Saia.
The Clemson community eagerly anticipates the arrival of these exceptional athletes, looking forward to their contributions both on and off the court. The future of Clemson Women’s Tennis is bright, and this recruiting class sets the stage for continued success.
