CLEMSON, SC – The 13th-ranked Clemson women’s tennis team swept all three doubles matches and clinched the doubles point for the eighth time this season en route to a 6-1 victory over #75 South Alabama at the Clemson Indoor Tennis Center on Thursday afternoon. The Tigers improved to 8-2 on the year, while the Jaguars fell to 4-6 overall.

Clemson’s 55th-ranked team of Ani Mijacika and Federica van Adrichem won easily over Adrianna Solarova and Sylvanie Spangenberg at the number one doubles position, 8-1, to better their season record to 6-2. At the flight two match-up, Carol Salge and Estefania Balda edged South Alabama’s duo of Michaela Babicova and Dijana Stanic, 8-6, while the Tiger tandem of Maria Brito and Alexandra Luc, ranked #32 in the Fila/ITA Tennis doubles poll, defeated Rita Frietas and Jelena Krivacevic at number three by an 8-5 margin. They improved to 11-3 overall with an 8-1 record during the dual season.

In singles action, Mijacika posted her 12th victory of the year, winning in straight sets over Yana Bokareva (6-1, 6-1) at the flight two position. Balda then defeated Krivacevic at number three by a 6-3, 6-2 margin, while van Adrichem claimed a 6-0, 6-3 decision against Stanic at flight four.
