Clemson defeats College of Charleston 2-0 in exhibition soccer action.

CLEMSON–Ryan Roushandel and Danny Poe both scored one goal each in leading Clemson to a 2-0 win over the College of Charleston in a men’s soccer exhibition match at Clemson, SC Saturday evening.

Ryan Roushandel scored an unassisted goal at the 19:42 mark to give the Tigers a 1-0 advantage.

Clemson’s Danny Poe scored just before halftime at the 42:55 point into the match. Randy Albright and Justin Moore were credited with the assists.

Clemson will play Alabama-Birmingham at Birmingham, AL next Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. in the Tigers’ last exhibition match of the season.

The Tigers will open the 2005 season on September 2, as Clemson plays host to South Carolina at 7:30 p.m. at Historic Riggs Field.

“I am happy with our depth,” said Clemson Head Coach Trevor Adair. “We are better physically, and I am pleased with our attitude. We are having a good preseason so far. I was happy with our performance tonight, and the way our young people played.”
