Tigers sign Will Stevens, Harris Reynolds and Amare James

CLEMSON, S.C. – Head Coach Brad Brownell and his staff added Will Stevens (Huntersville, N.C./Davidson Day), Harris Reynolds (Atlanta, Ga./St. Pius X Catholic) and Amare James (Marietta, Ga./Wheeler) to the Clemson University men’s basketball program. All three signed letters of intent to play for the Tigers beginning in 2026-27.

Our staff identified Harris, Will and Amare nearly two years ago and made them a priority for our program. We continued our trend of recruiting really good high school players who will have outstanding careers at Clemson. They all come from great families and have played in winning high school programs. All three are great fits with our Clemson Basketball culture.

Reynolds is a 6-5, 175-pound four-star guard who ranks as the No. 114 player nationally and sixth-highest rated player in Georgia by 247Sports. On3 ranks Reynolds No. 111.

Harris is a combo guard with elite athleticism and great size for his position. He’s a smart, hard-working player who just keeps getting better and better. He has the ability to create shots for himself and others and is an exciting player our fans will truly enjoy watching.

He played just six games as a junior due to injury, but averaged 12.2 points, 2.5 assists and 4.8 rebounds per game. As a sophomore he posted 13.4 points, 1.8 assists and 3.8 rebounds, while shooting nearly 47 percent from the floor and 33 percent from three. He added 35 steals and 15 blocks.

He chose Clemson over Virginia Tech, Texas A&M, Saint Louis, South Florida and VCU.

Stevens is a 6-10, 225-pound four-star center who ranks as the top prospect in North Carolina according to On3. He is the third-best prospect in N.C. according to 247sports.

Will is a highly skilled post player who will fit very well into our system. I love his ability to shoot, dribble and pass out of the high post. I feel like he will be a matchup problem for opponents as he gains strength throughout his career.

On the AAU circuit, Stevens averaged 13.0 points and 7.0 rebounds while shooting 40 percent from three. As a junior at Davidson Day, Stevens averaged 11.2 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.0 blocks per game. He shot 55 percent from the field and 40 percent from three. His father played baseball at Presbyterian, while his mother played basketball at Texas Tech.

He chose Clemson over Vanderbilt, South Carolina and St. Mary’s.

James is a 6-6, 190-pound guard from Marietta Ga. He helped lead Wheeler to a 6A state title in Georgia last season. He averaged 13.0 points per game as a junior at Wheeler last season. He added 4.4 rebounds and 37 total assists, while shooting 41.5 percent from the field, 36.0 percent from three and 77.0 percent from the line.

James was the team’s most improved player from a 29-3 state championship team.

Amare is a versatile wing who has the ability to be a two-way player in time. I love his work ethic, and his competitiveness will be a great addition to our team. I’m eager to see how he develops within our program.

His father played basketball at Evansville from 1996-00 for Jim Crews. Coach Brownell worked for Crews at Evansville in 1991-92. James’ mother played tennis at Southern Indiana from 1999-01.
