Clemson Baseball Defeats Wofford, 12-4

CLEMSON, S.C. –Clemson freshman Khalil Greene extended his hitting streak to 11 games leading the Tigers (14-8) to a 12-4 victory over Wofford (3-16) Wednesday night at Tiger Field. Greene finished the night with a triple, one RBI, and two runs scored.

Wofford got off to an early 2-1 lead, scoring two runs behind back-to-back singles by Roy Jacques and Rad Deaton. The Tiger’s broke open the game in the second inning scoring four runs. Kurt Bultmann and Jason Harris hit back-to-back RBI doubles, and Patrick Boyd followed with an RBI single.

Freshman left-hander Thomas Boozer (3-3) pitched 5.0 innings to earn the win for the Tigers. Right-hander B.J Turner (0-2) took the loss for Wofford. The Terriers used seven pitchers on the evening.

Tiger first baseman Jason Harris finished the evening with a solo homerun and a double. Harris also added four RBI in the game. Catcher Derek Borgert had two doubles on the night as well.

Jacques led the Terriers going two-for-two with three walks, reaching base in all five plate appearances.

The Tigers will travel to Wake Forest to take on the Demon Deacons Friday afternoon at 3:00 pm. The two teams will also play on Saturday(1:30) and Sunday(1:30) in Winston-Salem. The Saturday and Sunday games will be broadcast on the Clemson Sports Network.
