Clemson Athletics to Host 11th One Clemson … Solid Orange Event

Once again, Clemson Athletics is encouraging all Tiger fans to show their spirit and wear orange for the One Clemson…Solid Orange event that takes place on Sunday, March 21st, as Head Coach Susie Lueck’s rowing team plays host to the University of Miami. Clemson teams are currently 8-2 in 2003-04 One Clemson…Solid Orange events.

The first 200 fans attending the rowing event on Sunday afternoon will receive a complimentary One Clemson…Solid Orange thunderstick and a One Clemson Solid Orange T-shirt.

The Tigers welcome future ACC rival Miami to Lake Hartwell for the dual regatta. Events will kick off at 8:30 am with a boat dedication. Racing will then commence at 9:00 am with the Novice 8+, the first of six races for the day. Both teams return to the water after sweeping their competition in the previous weekend. Clemson rowing took North Carolina in seven first-place finishes on the water last Saturday, while the Hurricanes successfully won all six races at the First Annual Hurricane Invitational on Miami Beach. The two teams last met at the 2003 Lexus South/Central in Oak Ridge Tenn. where the Tigers edged out Miami in Varsity 8+, First Novice 8+ and the Second Novice 8+.

During the 2003-2004 season, selected men’s and women’s basketball, men’s soccer and baseball games, an additional fee will be applied to each game ticket sold for the designated One Clemson…Solid Orange event. The proceeds from the One Clemson event will be used for specific One Clemson academic efforts. The One Clemson concept recognizes the strength of unity in everything we do as a University. The One Clemson Fund supports the University’s academic goals that will further enhance the ability of Clemson University to make for a stronger South Carolina and nation.

To date, the Clemson University Athletic Department has generated $ 39,015 for the One Clemson Fund. At the final One Clemson…Solid Orange event of the year, the April 7th baseball game against the University of South Carolina, a check will be presented to Clemson University.
