CLEMSON, S.C. – Following their performances at the Orange and Purple Invitational, both Gladys Chepngetich and Aniyah Kitt have been named ACC Performers of the Week as announced by the conference office on Tuesday.
Gladys Chepngetich – ACC Women’s Track Performer of the Week
At the Orange and Purple Invitational, Chepngetich impressed as she finished first place in the women’s 800 meters with a time of 2:02.69. The sophomore time ranks her third in the NCAA and No. 1 in the ACC. Chepngetich also ran the anchor leg of the women’s 4×400 relay for the Clemson “A” team as she helped the Tigers secure a season’s best time of 3:34.49 which is the third fastest time in program history. The time ranks them 10th in the nation and first in the ACC.
This marks Chepngetich’s second ACC weekly honor of the season.
Aniyah Kitt – ACC Women’s Freshman of the Week
This past weekend, Kitt dominated at the Orange and Purple Invitational as she secured first place in the women’s 60 meters with a personal best time of 7.22. With the time, Kitt tied the third fastest time in program history in that event. The freshman is tied for sixth in the nation and is second in the ACC in the 60 meters. Kitt also ran in the women’s 4×400 relay with Chepngetich as she helped Clemson secure the season’s best time of 3:34.49.
Kitt, who has competed in three collegiate meets this indoor season, has recorded a top-10 program time in all three meets for three different events (300, 200, 60 meters) so far this year. This also marks Kitt’s third ACC Freshman of the Week honor in the 2024-25 campaign.
