CLEMSON, SC – Junior swimmer Seth Broster was named to the 2011 Capital One Academic All-District Three First Team on Thursday. The team was named by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
Broster was one of ten selections from District Three. The team is comprised of male swimmers and divers from the Carolinas, Georgia, Florida, and Virginia. It was his first career selection to the academic all-district team.
The butterfly and freestyle specialist was recently named to the Academic All-ACC team for the second time. He received a 3.73 GPA for the 2010-11 school year in chemical engineering.
The Louisville, KY native was one of four Clemson swimmers invited to participate in the NCAA Championships this season. Broster played an integral role in the Tigers’ Top 25 finish at the national meet, as he was a part of the tenth-place 200 freestyle relay team. He also won an ACC title this season as a member of the 200 medley relay squad.
