Clemson, S.C. – Clemson redshirt sophomore Brie Clark has been named the ACC Gymnastics Specialist of the Week, it was announced today, as voted on by the league office. This marks Clark’s first ACC weekly honor and Clemson’s fourth in three weeks.
The Daphne, Ala., native recorded two event wins in Clemson’s first-ever road contest, a 196.550 – 194.250 win at North Carolina. Clark tied a career-high on beam with a 9.900 and continued her dominance on floor with her second-consecutive 9.925. Clark has won the floor event in three-straight meets for the Tigers and has scored a 9.900 or higher on floor in every meet this season.
Clemson returns to action on Friday, February 2, at 7:00 p.m., hosting NC State. Prior to the meet, Clemson Athletics will host a National Girls and Women in Sports Day celebration, where fans with a ticket to the gymnastics meet will have a chance to meet athletes from Clemson’s other female sports.
