Bob Mahony Associate Executive Director

Bob Mahony has been with IPTAY as an Associate Executive Director since February of 1989. A 1976 graduate of Clemson with a BS degree in building Construction, he began his business career in Columbia with Bagnal Builders, McCory Construction and then worked with Trehel Corporation in Clemson and Hudson Construction of Seneca.

Mahony “walked on” the Clemson Baseball team as a pitcher in 1974, but was later awarded a scholarship from Coach Bill Wilhelm. In 1976 he was co-captain of a team that won the ACC regular season and tournament championship and later went on to the College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska. Mahony spent a short time in the Baltimore Orioles organization and has continued his close contact with baseball providing color commentary for Clemson baseball on The Clemson Tiger Network.

Bob’s duties with IPTAY include working with over 750 IPTAY Representatives in providing them with information they need to carry out their duties, planning Clemson Club meetings, District IPTAY Representative meetings and other administrative duties.

Mahony is active in FCA, Tiger Brotherhood, Rotary and his church and was honored last spring when Bill and Elaine Howiler endowed a pitching position in his name.

Bob and Robin (a 1976 graduate of Clemson) have two daughters, Robin Allison, currently entering her sophomore year at Clemson and Marion Leigh. Bob’s family is all Clemson as two brothers and his father hold Clemson degrees and his mother was the Tiger Brotherhood Mother of the Year in 1981.
