Billy Packer Hosts Midnight Madness

CLEMSON, S.C. — Longtime CBS College Basketball announcer Billy Packer will be the featured guest when Clemson holds Midnight Madness to kickoff the college basketball season next Friday night at Littlejohn Coliseum. Packer has been the voice of college basketball and the NCAA Tournament since he did his first Final Four in 1975. He has been broadcasting ACC games since the 1960s.

The evening’s activities on October 16 will begin at 9:00 PM. The festivities will include the championship of a three-on-three basketball tournament, free throw shooting contests, live music and a best dressed fan contest. A thousand T-shirts will also be given away.

Packer will give his preview of the ACC and a contest will be tied to his predictions. The Tiger men and women’s teams for 1998-99 will be introduced and take part in a short workout.

Admission is free to this family oriented event.
