ATHENS, Ga. – Clemson senior Grace Barnett jumped from No. 8 to No. 6 all-time in Clemson history in women’s 800m after achieving her career best, 2:05.95, at the University of Georgia’s Torrin Lawrence Memorial Saturday. Barnett, who holds program records in the 1500m and the mile, and ranks eighth all-time in the 800m indoors, placed second overall Saturday and was the top collegiate finisher for the event.
Additionally, senior Nate Gordon ran his best open 800m time in a Clemson uniform. The Georgetown transfer placed second overall, crossing the finish line at the 1:50.93 mark. Junior Oliver Lloyd achieved his personal best (1:51.05), finishing just behind Gordon, while was sophomore Malik Epps ran his season best (1:51.12).
The Tigers head to Coral Gables, Florida, for the 2018 ACC Outdoor Track & Field Championship at the University of Miami, which is set to commence Thursday (May 10) and conclude Saturday (May 12).
