#ClemsonUnited Alumni in the Pros: February 24

Robbie Robinson

Robbie Robinson made his professional debut for Inter Miami CF this past Saturday night in the side’s match against the Tampa Bay Rowdies. Robinson, who was the first overall selection in the 2020 MLS SuperDraft, used a bit of brilliance to slot home the first goal of his professional career in the 23rd minute of the match to give Inter Miami the lead. As the match played out, Robinson’s goal served as the deciding score, as Inter Miami won by a final score of 1-0.

Kyle Murphy

Kyle Murphy, who played last season as a member of Loudoun Valley FC, made the move to the Tampa Bay Rowdies during the off season and hasn’t missed a beat on the attacking front. Murphy scored off of a blistering strike in the side’s first preseason match but was held quiet in the side’s match against Inter Miami CF on Saturday.

Amadou Dia

Amadou Dia had a bittersweet moment over the weekend, as Dia made his 2020 debut for Sporting KC against his former club, Phoenix Rising FC. Dia, who began his professional career with Sporting as the 20th overall pick in the 2015 MLS SuperDraft, returned to the side after serving as an integral part of Phoenix Rising’s defense during the team’s spectacular 2019 campaign.

Tommy McNamara

Tommy McNamara, who will enter into his second full season with the Houston Dynamo in 2020 after joining the club in December of 2018, has already scored twice for his side in its pair of preseason matches.

Diego Campos

Earlier today, Diego Campos announced that he has a new professional club, joining the Norwegian side, FK Jerv! Campos will rejoin his former teammate, Iman Mafi, at Jerv. The two played together at Clemson between 2014 and 2016.

Andrew Tarbell

Andrew Tarbell has had a whirlwind of a past few days, as the goalkeeper was traded from the San Jose Earthquakes to the Columbus Crew on Feb. 19. Tarbell would go on to make his debut with the Crew in the squad’s preseason match against the New York Red Bulls that same evening. Tarbell wasted no time in making an impact on his new club, as the keeper made a spectacular series of saves to keep the game scoreless just moments after coming on as a substitute in the 46th minute of the match.

Jack Metcalf

Jack Metcalf will embark on a historic journey this season, as Metcalf joined San Diego Loyal SC, who are in their first season as a club. Metcalf scored the side’s first goal in their home stadium this past weekend!
