CLEMSON, S.C. – No. 15 Clemson Women’s Tennis (12-3, 2-1 ACC) returned to Duckworth and rolled to a 4-1 victory over No. 44 Notre Dame (12-3, 2-2 ACC) Friday evening.

Clemson dropped the doubles point for just the second time this season. Gabriella Rawles/Rylie Hanford defeated Talia Neilson-Gatenby and Artemis Aslanisvili, 6-2 before the No. 26 ranked pairing of Jade Groen and Rinon Okuwaki defeated No. 57 Bianca Molnar/Bojana Pozder, 6-3. On court two, Gaia Parravicini and Romana Cisovska were leading Akari Matsuno/Mari-Louise Van Zyl, 5-2 before having to retire due to injury, giving the Irish the doubles point.

In singles, Groen made quick work of Molnar on court one, dropping just three games en route to a two-set victory in a match that lasted just over an hour. Soon after, Cisovska wrapped up a 6-3, 6-2 victory on court three over Matsuno. Okuwaki gave the Tigers a 3-1 lead after grinding out a tiebreaker in the first set, 7-6(5) before rolling to a 6-3 victory in the second set. Neilson-Gatenby and Hanford split the first two sets, but Neilson-Gatenby wrapped up the match for the Tigers with a 6-3 victory in the final set to give Clemson its second ACC win of the season. At the time of the clinch, Aslanisvili and Ria Bhakta each split their first two sets and both held one-game advantages in their final sets.
