CLEMSON, S.C. – The 16th-ranked Clemson Gymnastics program scored the fourth-highest total in program history, a 196.900, in a Saturday dual meet with No. 20 California (7-3, 3-1 ACC), its fifth consecutive top-25 opponent. The Tigers’ (2-4, 1-3 ACC) season scoring average rose again to a 196.475, and 22 of 24 events hit for a 9.800 or higher. The Golden Bears had a season-high 196.950 to earn the dual meet victory, nearly a full point higher than their 196.155 average coming in.
Saturday’s meet came down to the final two routines for each team, one of the tightest in program history in terms of final score. The meet saw Justin Howell and Liz Crandall-Howell coach against their former school for the first time after more than 13 seasons leading the program.
Clemson posted season-bests on both vault (49.175) and bars (49.350) and won floor. She entered the meet ranked fourth nationally on floor.

Brie Clark posted her second consecutive 9.875 to lead a solid Tiger rotation that included a 9.825 from Lilly Lippeatt and 9.800s from Walsh, Cesario, Kuhl and Malewski.
