Kwaku Agyabeng Signs Generation Adidas Contracts

MLS Announcement

CLEMSON, S.C. — Major League Soccer announced that Clemson midfielder Kwaku Agyabeng has signed a Generation adidas contract. A native of Kumasi, Ghana, Agyabeng is now eligible for selection in the 2026 MLS SuperDraft, which is set to take place on Thursday, Dec. 18 at 2 p.m. Agyabeng is the 10th player in program history and sixth in the Mike Noonan era to sign a Generation adidas contract.

Generation adidas is a joint program between MLS and adidas that sees a handful of top collegiate underclassmen and youth national team players signed by MLS to Generation adidas contracts and made available in the SuperDraft. In order to provide Generation adidas players with the best professional environment, Generation adidas player salaries are not charged against an MLS team’s annual salary budget, providing an added incentive for that club to develop the player. Eventually, these GA players graduate to senior player contracts and their salaries are charged against a team’s budget.

Today’s announcement signals the end of Agyabeng’s collegiate eligibility and means he will join his new club after being selected in the upcoming draft.

One of Clemson’s key midfielders this season, freshman Agyabeng saw action in 16 matches, making 15 starts for the Tigers in 2025, netting his first career goal vs then No. 10 Duke. Following his freshman campaign, Agyabeng was named Third Team All-ACC, ACC All-Freshman Team, TopDrawerSoccer Freshman Top-100-No. 6 and ACC Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 21.
