Jelelgo Shatters Clemson’s 5,000m Record at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener

BOSTON UNIVERSITY SHARON COLYEAR-DANVILLE SEASON OPENER RESULTS

CLEMSON, S.C. – Clemson’s Silvia Jelelgo set a new school record in the Boston University Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener 5,000m race Saturday afternoon.

Jelelgo’s time of 15:16.57 shattered the previous record of 16:01.24, set by Kim Ruck at the 2010 NCAA Indoor Championships. Jelelgo finished in the top half of her competition, placing 11^th out of 25 athletes.
