Augustinaite And Moore Combine for 36 Points in Tigers Season Season-Opening Win Against USC Upstate, 76-38

Clemson, S.C., Nov. 3, 2025 – Junior Guard/Forward Rusne Augustinaite (19 points) knocked down four 3-pointers and led all scorers in Clemson women’s basketball’s (1-0), 76-38, season-opening victory against USC Upstate (0-1) in Littlejohn Coliseum on Monday afternoon. The Education Day crowd featured a roaring 5,839 local students.

Senior guard Mia Moore (17 points) and senior guard Taylor Johnson-Matthews (12 points) rounded out the trio of double-digit scorers for the Tigers. Forwards Demeara Hinds (five rebounds) and Raven Thompson (five rebounds) led the Tigers in rebounding.

The Tigers held the Spartans to just 35 percent shooting from the field, while forcing 21 turnovers. Emma Blair and Aubri Kierscht led USC Upstate in scoring with six points each.

HOW THE GAME WAS DECIDED

The Tigers sparked a 21-2 run to close out the first half, outscoring the Spartans by a total of 29-7 in the second quarter. Clemson connected on nine of its final ten field goal attempts going into the break. The Tigers extended their lead to upwards of 44 points in the final frame.

  • Clemson outscored USC Upstate in points off of turnovers (29-6), points in the paint (38-16), and bench points (33-21).
  • For the 11th time since the 2015-16 season, Clemson scored 29 points in a single quarter (second).
