Eric Roux

Position: Assistant Athletic Trainer; W. Basketball

Eric Roux joined Clemson in 2024 as the Athletic Trainer for the women’s basketball team. Before arriving in Tigertown, Roux served as the Assistant Director of Sports Medicine at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, working with the Mocs women’s basketball and men’s golf program.

For his work with the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, Roux was the 2023 recipient of the Tennessee Athletic Trainers’ Society Eugene Smith/Mickey O’Brien College Athletic Trainer of the Year Award. Roux has a variety of other certifications, including Dry Needling, RockTape, IASTM, and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. While on staff at UTC, Roux served as the department’s staff representative on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).

Before his time with Chattanooga, Roux was the men’s basketball and men’s golf athletic trainer at Samford University.

Making his way throughout the East Coast, Roux has worked with Francis Marion University, the Florence Flamingos (formerly RedWolves), South Georgia Tormenta FC, Georgia Southern University, and the University of Connecticut. Eric graduated from High Point University with a dual B.S. in Athletic Training and Exercise Science and went on to complete his master’s at UConn with an M.S. in Kinesiology.   

The native of Vernon, N.J., enjoys playing golf in his free time, as well as staying active, playing sports, and keeping up with his favorite New Jersey and New York Sports Teams.
