No. 10 Tigers Fall to No. 11 Virginia 4-0 Saturday Night

CLEMSON, S.C. – No. 10 Clemson fell to No. 11 Virginia 4-0 in Charlottesville, Va. Saturday night. The Tigers move to 8-4-2 overall and 4-2-1 in the ACC.

Clemson out shot the Cavaliers 6-5 in the first half but a few shots off the goal cost the Tigers. Three corner opportunities gave Clemson a shot to tighten the score but a few missed shots kept the game at 3-0 heading into halftime.

The Tigers went in the locker room and reset for another half. Clemson’s offense took seven shots to Virginia’s four in the second half but just could not hit the target. Clemson took every chance they had totaling seven corners in the match. A late goal from Virginia moved the score to 4-0 in the final 14 minutes of the match.

Wahabu Musah and Misei Yoshizawa led the offense for the Tigers each taking three shots. Matthias Leib was right behind them with two shots of his own in his eighth appearance on the year.

The Tigers are back at Historic Riggs Field for the last regular season match. Clemson will face off with Virginia Tech Friday, Oct. 31. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. and will be broadcast on ACCNX and live stats are available at ClemsonTigers.com.
