PRE-NATIONALS WOMEN’S 6K | CRIMSON CLASSIC MEN’S 8K
CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson cross country program competed at the Pre-Nationals Invitational and Crimson Classic Friday morning.
Held in Columbia, Mo., Pre-Nationals featured Clemson’s women, who finished sixth with 286 points. Silvia Jelelgo finished second with a time of 19:05.8, earning two points. Gladys Chepngetich was the next Tiger to place, coming in 11th overall with a time of 19:50.9 for 11 points. Emily Lamontagne’s time of 20:59.4 was good for 90th place, securing 85 points. Judy Kosgei followed close to Lamontagne, finishing 92nd with a time of 21:01.2 for 86 points. Madelyn Dinneen rounded out the top five finishers for Clemson with a time of 21:10.2, good for 109th place and 102 points.
The men competed in the Crimson Classic, held in Tuscaloosa, Ala., and finished fourth as a team with 155 points. Gideon Kiplimo led the Tigers with the 12th best time of 24:14.6, earning 11 points. Garrett Brown was the next to cross the finish line, securing a time of 24:28.8. Brown finished 18th overall and earned 17 points. Trey Sullivan was the 34th runner to finish, recording a time of 24:53.3 for 31 points. Brendan Gomez earned 42 points after finishing 46th with a time of 25:08.0. Jack Hearld was the final Tiger to pick up points for the men, finishing 59th with a time of 25:21.9 for 54 points.

Clemson will race in the ACC Championships on Friday, Oct. 31. in Louisville, Ky. The meet will be held at Tom Sawyer State Park, the same course used for the Swags Louisville Cross Country Classic.
