CLEMSON, S.C. – For the second consecutive year, the Clemson Rowing program will travel north to Cambridge, Mass. To compete in the Head of the Charles regatta on October 18th and 19th.
The Tigers will be sending two Varsity Eight boats to the Head of Charles, with one competing on the afternoon of Saturday, October 18, approximately at 1:44 P.M. for the Women’s Club 8+ and the other rowing on the afternoon of Sunday, October 19, for the Women’s Championship 8+ that is slated to start at 2:42 P.M. The regatta results can be found here.
“We’re really looking forward to our first race of the fall” commented Head Coach Adrienne Martelli, “The group has been making a ton of progress so far this year and it’s always exciting to have the opportunity to line up against other teams.”
Last year during the same event, the Tigers set new school records for the fastest times raced for the events with the Club 8+ having placed ninth overall out of a 42-boat field with a time of 16:59.076 and the Championship 8+ recording a time of 16:44.528. Both times were the fastest a Clemson crew has finished at the Head of the Charles since 2007.
