Maryanne Kilgore

Position: Assistant Coach

Maryanne Kilgore has been named the new assistant coach for the Clemson Women’s Soccer program as she joins the program in the summer of 2025.

“We are excited to welcome Maryanne to Clemson Women’s Soccer and the Clemson Family,” said Head Women’s Soccer Coach Eddie Radwanski. “Maryanne’s experience as a collegiate player, and as an assistant coach will bring great value to our staff and program.  She was a part of a great coaching staff at Liberty where they won the Conference USA Championship and advanced to the NCAA Tournament in 2023.  Maryanne is one of the upcoming young coaches in the country and we are excited to have her join our team.”

Kilgore comes to Clemson from Liberty University, where she served as an assistant coach from 2023 to 2025. During her tenure, Liberty achieved historic success, including back-to-back 15+ win seasons and a Conference USA Championship title in 2023. In her first season, the program posted a 16-3-1 record and claimed the 2023 CUSA Championship with a 2-1 victory over New Mexico State. The team also earned its first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance in CUSA and secured a signature win over defending Big 12 champion West Virginia. The 2024 season saw continued success with a 15-2-4 record, a CUSA regular season title, a top-25 national ranking (No. 24), and a conference championship game appearance.

Prior to her time at Liberty, Kilgore began her collegiate coaching career at her alma mater, Western Carolina University, as an assistant coach in 2022. That season, the Catamounts made a SoCon Tournament appearance.

As a player, Kilgore was a standout center back at Western Carolina from 2017 to 2021, starting 75 of 83 career games. She was named to the SoCon All-Freshman Team in 2017 and earned multiple academic honors, including SoCon Honor Roll recognition every semester. A leader on and off the field, she served four years on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), including two as president. Her leadership and performance earned her accolades such as Miss WCU Student-Athlete in 2020 and the WCU Biggest Victory Award in 2021 for her golden goal against UNC.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in Education with a focus in Biology (2021) and a master’s degree in Sport Management (2023), both from Western Carolina. Kilgore also holds a USSF D License and an NSCAA National Diploma.

With a passion for player development, a winning pedigree, and strong leadership experience, Maryanne Kilgore brings a dynamic and driven presence to the Clemson coaching staff.
