3 on 3 Co-Ed Basketball Tournament

4 PM – 8 PM
Grab some friends and come out to Littlejohn Coliseum to play co-ed 3 on 3 basketball with the Clemson Women’s Basketball coaches and staff! All Clemson Students are invited to register and play for their chance to be this year’s 3 on 3 champions. The final game will be played during halftime at the Women’s Basketball Exhibition on October 29, 2019!
Tournament Information and Registration:
- Registration will open October 14th and Close October 24th
- Gameday/playing schedule will be released October 25th via e-mail and on ClemsonTigers.com/3on3
- One team member should register your whole team in one submission
- There is no cost to register
- Each team member will receive a T-shirt the day of competition
Rules
Teams
- Each team shall consist of a maximum of 5 players (3 players on the court and 2 substitutes).
- 2 females and 1 male OR 1 female and 2 males must be represented on the court at all times.
- All team members must be 20 years or older to play
- Teams should wear the same color T-shirts/Jerseys
Game officials
- The game shall consist of 1 or 2 referees and time/score keepers.
Beginning of the game
- Both teams shall warm-up simultaneously prior to the game (5 min warm up)
- A coin flip shall determine which team gets the first possession. The team that wins the coin flip can either choose to benefit from the ball possession at the beginning of the game or at the beginning of a potential overtime.
- The game must start with three players on the court.
Time-outs
- One 30-second time-out is granted to each team. A player can call the time-out in a dead ball situation.
Scoring
- Every successful shot inside the arc shall be awarded 1 point.
- Every successful shot behind the arc shall be awarded 2 points.
Fouls
- Non-shooting fouls will be taken out of bounds or checked at the top with five seconds to throw in.
- On a made shooting foul the offensive team will be awarded the point and they will keep possession of the ball
- On a shooting foul and the shot is not made the offense will keep possession of the ball
Playing time/Winner of a game
- The regular playing time shall be as follows: one period of 15 minutes playing time. The clock shall be stopped during dead ball situations. The clock shall be restarted after the exchange of the ball is completed (as soon as it is in the offensive team’s hands).
- The first team to score 21 points or more wins the game if it happens before the end of regular playing time. This rule applies to regular playing time only (not in a potential overtime).
- If the score is tied at the end of playing time, an extra period of time will be played. There shall be a break of 1 minute before the overtime starts. The first team to score 2 points in the overtime wins the game, must win by 2 points.
Standings of teams
- All team will be guaranteed at least 2 playing games
- Both in pools and in overall competition standings, the following classification rules apply. If teams are tied after the first step, refer to the next one – and so on.
- Most wins (or win ratio in case of unequal number of games in inter-pool comparison);
- Head-to-head confrontation (only taking win/loss into account and applies within a pool only);
- Most points scored in average (without considering winning scores of forfeits).
- If teams are still tied after those three steps, the one(s) with the highest seeding win(s) the tie-breaker.
