Lamparter Earns Conference, National Defensive Player of the Week Honors

CLEMSON, S.C. – The Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) and the ACC announced on Tuesday, February 25th that Emily Lamparter has earned the IWLCA and ACC Defensive Player of the Week awards. This is the second time Lamparter has earned the IWLCA award and the first time that she has earned an ACC Player of the Week nod. Additionally, this is the first time a Tiger has secured both national and conference lacrosse accolades in a single week.

“For three years Emily has been the backbone of our defensive unit” said Head Coach Allison Kwolek, “We are thrilled to see her recognized nationally and in our conference for her play.”

Lamparter earned the accolades after a dominant performance against then-No. 11 Notre Dame and was an instrumental part of Clemson’s highest-ever ranked victory. The goalie recorded 13 saves on 33 shots faced for a 54.2% save rate and saved 80% of her free position shots faced. The 13 saves are her highest of the season thus far and is the second-most in a single game in Clemson Lacrosse history.

Lamparter has been a defensive stalwart throughout her time at Clemson. She has started every game in Clemson Lacrosse history and most recently achieved 300 career saves after her performance against Notre Dame. The South Carolina native earned her first IWLCA Defensive Player of the Week honors after the Tigers first ever ranked victory over No. 13 Duke, 11-10, during Clemson’s inaugural season. Lamparter earned All-ACC Second Team honors after the 2024 season and USA Lacrosse All-America Honorable Mention.

Up next, the Tigers will play the No. 5 Syracuse Orange on Saturday, March 1st at 12 p.m. in the JMA Wireless Dome for the second consecutive ranked match up this year
