CLEMSON, S.C. –  The No. 18-ranked Clemson Tigers (1-0) are set to take on the Vanderbilt Commodores (1-0) on Wednesday, February 12, at 3 p.m. to cap off a two-game road trip to start the season. This will be the first meeting between the two programs in women’s lacrosse.

Clemson is coming off a solid win against the Davidson Wildcats, 14-6, that saw five Tigers score goals. Graduate attacker Lexi Edmonds led the offensive effort with four goals and two assists for six points, all of which were career highs for the Pennsylvania transfer. Fellow graduate transfer Lindsey Marshall also put four in the cage, and sophomore Kayla MacLeod notched four goals and an assist for the Tigers. Defensively, Summer Agostino led Clemson with three caused turnovers and picked up five ground balls, both of which are good for second most in Clemson history. Emily Lamparter recorded 12 saves in the cage for a 66.7% save rate. The Tigers picked up an ACC-high 32 ground balls against the Wildcats, the most ever in a single game in Clemson Lacrosse history.

The Commodores enter Wednesday’s match-up after taking down the Cincinnati Bearcats 13-8. Vanderbilt’s Maddie Barkate led the Commodore offense with six points off two goals and four assists, while Jaime Biskup had three of Vanderbilt’s goals along with a ground ball and a draw control. Nancy Halleron recorded a hat trick, while Molly Joyce had seven saves. The Commodores are led by Head Coach Beth Hewitt, who is in her seventh year helming the program with a record of 51-44. Vanderbilt is also led by associate head coach Jill Kendall and assistant coaches Sophie Leva and Emily Talluto.
