AUSTIN, Texasย – ย The Clemson Tigers are set to compete at Texas Relays in Austin with events starting on Thursday, March 28 and ending on March 30. This will mark Clemson’s third outdoor meet of the 2024 season.
The Tigers have already made quite the impact in the outdoor season as both the men and women are currently ranked within the top 15 in the nation. In the week one rankings, the Clemson men secured No. 11 and the women tabbed No. 12 overall so far this season.
On the men’s side, Courtney Lawrence is currently ranked No. 7 in the nation in the shot put with a mark of 18.78m. Freshman Brian Kweyei holds the sixth-highest time in the 800 meters with a time of 1:48.79. D’Andre Anderson is currently tied for No. 8 in the nation for his time in the 200 meters as he ran the event with a time of 20.54.
On the women’s side, freshman Gladys Chepngetich currently holds the top time in the nation in the women’s 800 meter with a time of 2:01.70. Currently ranked within the top-10 in the 400 meters is Ken’Naria Gadson as her top time of 52.78 ranks her No. 9 in the nation in the event. In the 200 meters, Antoinette Van Der Merwe holds the ninth-highest time in the nation as she crossed the line at 23:12 at the Knights Invitational.
Some Tigers are splitting the weekend as eight athletes are set to compete at Raleigh Relays with events starting on Thursday, March 28 and ending on March 30.
