CSC Release

Thompson, a senior, was a Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management (PTRM) major that graduated earlier this month. She appeared in the circle in 28 games, starting 11. The Third Team All-ACC honoree finished the year with a 2.08 ERA and six victories through 91.0 innings of work. She struck out 75 batters while only allowing 10 walks on the season to lead the ACC in both strikeout-to-walk ration and walks allowed per seven innings while also ranking in the top six in the NCAA in both categories.

McCubbin is also a PTRM major, appeared in 24 games, starting 12 games in the circle. She finished the year with two complete games, including one solo shutout and one save while racking up a career-high 10 victories. The junior saw 59.1 innings of work and struck out 42 batters while limiting opponents to a .270 average at the plate and only allowed nine extra-base hits.

To be eligible for the honor, players must sport at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average and, as a pitcher, make at least 17 appearances in the circle or pitch 25 total innings.
