CLEMSON, S.C. – Clemson Softball Head Coach John Rittman announced the addition of four players to the 2024-25 roster on Wednesday. The Tigers will welcome transfers Reese Basinger (Winthrop), Jamison Brockenbrough (Tennessee) and Brook Melnychuk (LA Tech) to the team this fall, as well as adding incoming freshman Marian Collins.
“It’s with great excitement we complete our 2024-25 roster,” said Rittman. “The addition of these four student-athletes will bring an added layer of competition and versatility to our lineup. The three transfers bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to our locker room, and we are thrilled to see the growth and impact Marian will have as a Tiger. These four share the vision and values of Clemson Softball, and we could not be happier to welcome them to the Clemson Family.”

- Three-time All-Big South Conference selection
- Holds a 2.33 career ERA with 477 strikeouts through 511.1 innings
- Led the Big South in strikeouts, innings pitched and games started in 2024
- Has tallied 36 career wins, including 15 during the 2023 campaign
- Recorded 11 games with double-digit strikeouts while at Winthrop
- Threw a perfect game against South Carolina State with 13 strikeouts (2023)
- Struck out a career-high 16 batters against Radford (2023)
- Threw first collegiate shutout in 2022 against Radford with one hit, no walks and 10 strikeouts
- Posted a .255 batting average with 37 hits, including six doubles and two home runs, 15 runs scored and 26 RBIs

Jamison Brockenbrough · OF · Locust Grove, Ga. · Tennessee
- Represented Ireland at the 2022 U-22 European Softball Championship
- Tallied two hits and a solo home run in a 9-7 win over Austria with Team Ireland
- Holds a .262 career batting average with 34 hits, including three home runs, three doubles and one triple
- Recorded 24 RBIs and 24 runs scored with three stolen bases at Tennessee
- Appeared in 60 games for the Lady Vols, starting 44 during the 2023 season
- Broke out during UT’s postseason run in 2023, hitting .306 and recording a double, triple and home run with 10 RBIs and six runs scored
- Launched first home run of 2024 season to end the game and clinch the victory against Belmont
- Had one run and one double during the Lady Vols’ 14-0 shutout against Kennesaw State
- Tallied a career-high three hits against South Carolina (2023)
- Hit first collegiate homer against LSU (2023)
Brook Melnychuk · RHP · Hudson Bay, Saskatchewan, Canada · LA Tech (Iowa Western CC)
- ICCAC Pitcher of the Year (2021)
- Second Team NJCAA All-American (2021)
- Posted a 2.77 ERA with 13 wins in 2024 through 36 appearances and 20 starts at LA Tech
- Struck out 67 batters in 124 innings pitched last season
- Did not allow an earned run over the course of her first 11.2 innings to start the 2024 season
- Went the distance in final three starts of the 2024 season, allowing one run, one walk and 13 hits in 21 innings while striking out 11
- Threw only 69 pitches in complete-game shutout in opening round of CUSA Tournament against UTEP
- Earned CUSA Pitcher of the Week honors twice
- Two-time NFCA Scholar-Athlete and three-time CUSA Commissioner’s Honor Roll
- Led LA Tech with a 2.04 ERA in 75.2 IP in 2023
Marian Collins · INF · Marietta, Ga. · Mount Paran Christian School
- Four-time Georgia All-State selection
- Four-time Region Player of the Year
- Four-time Cobb County All-County Team
- Three-time MPCS MVP
- Helped Mount Paran Christian School become 1A Georgia State Champions (2021) and State Tournament Runner-Ups (2023)
- Georgia Dugout Club 2A Player of the Year
- Georgia Dugout Association Senior Game selection (2024)
- Won 101 games during her high school career
- Finished with a career .606 average with 184 hits including 27 home runs, 160 RBIs and only 16 strikeouts
- All-Academic Honor Roll (2021-24)
- Played club ball for Fury Platinum Higdon (2023-24) and Fury Platinum Hutchins (2020-23)
The three transfers and one incoming freshman join six addition incoming freshmen (Macey Cintron, Riley Fennell, Madison Lardizabal, Sam Minish, Taylor Pipkins and Ava Wilson) as the newest members of the 2024-25 Clemson Softball team.
