CLEMSON, S.C. – Clemson Volleyball Head Coach Jackie Simpson Kirr announced the addition of Indigo Young and Kate Hansen to the 2024 roster on Tuesday. Young joins the Tigers as a graduate transfer after spending the previous four seasons at Charleston Southern, while Hansen just completed her freshman campaign at Texas Tech, and will be a sophomore in the fall of 2024. Both are set to join the program at the beginning of the spring semester.
Simpson Kirr stated, “The combination of Indigo and Kate will provide great depth in our middle position and continue to elevate our front line.”
Indigo Young · Middle Hitter · Kennesaw, Ga. · Harrison HS · Charleston Southern
“Indigo is a super dynamic middle who is quick and hard for opponents to defend,” said Simpson Kirr. “She runs a lot of different routes which fits our offensive system well. Her experience as a leader on and off the court will continue to help our program move forward.”
Kate Hansen · Middle Hitter · Weatherford, Texas · Weatherford HS · Texas Tech
“Kate is an impressive blocker with per set numbers matching Adria Powell from last season,” said Simpson Kirr. “She will bring a critical element to our defense at the net. Her drive to be the best and desire to be in an environment where everyone is on a mission will fit our program well.”
Young and Hansen will begin training with the Tigers after the New Year in preparation for the 2024 fall slate. The anticipated incoming freshman class will be announced at a later date. For more information on Clemson Volleyball, follow the program on Twitter and Instagram @ClemsonVB.
