CLEMSON, S.C. โ The Clemson track and field program is set to participate in the 2023 Indoor Track and Field Championship Meet, hosted by Louisville at the Norton Healthcare Sports and Learning Center. The meet will take place from Thursday, Feb. 23 through Saturday, Feb. 25.
Clemson is looking to reach new heights as it prepares for the conference championship. Several Tigers are looking to make their mark in ACC history, while Daniel Cope, Tarees Rhoden look to defend their individual ACC Championships in the weight throw and 800 meter run, respectively. The men’s 4×400 meter relay team of Wanya McCoy, Cameron Rose, Tarees Rhoden and and Aman Thornton recently broke the ACC record in the event, and will look to take the 4×400 gold back to Clemson for the second-straight season.
Kiara Grant is competing in her first ACC Championship, and after setting the conference record in the 60 meter dash earlier this season, she will have high hopes heading into the weekend. Ockera Myrie joins Grant in the short sprints, as both look to earn points for the Tigers across several events.
Giano Roberts and Wanya McCoy have been stellar for Clemson all season long, and Roberts will take his conference-leading 7.62 second 60 meter hurdle time into the weekend with hopes of bringing home gold. McCoy’s 20.60 200 meter dash is good for second in the conference to this point.
Last season, the men’s team finished third and the women came in ninth place. Both teams will be looking to improve their standing within the conference this weekend.
