CLEMSON, S.C. – Clemson softball’s McKenzie Clark, JoJo Hyatt, Caroline Jacobsen, Ally Miklesh and Millie Thompson have been named Academic All-District selections, the College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced on Tuesday. The is the second year Clemson has had Academic All-District honorees after Sam Russ (2022) earned both All-District and All-American recognition last season.

Clark (Myakka City, Fla.), a criminal justice major, has started every game for the Tigers is season in center field. She’s batting .335 with 11 home runs, 11 doubles and one triple. She has also scored 50 runs, a team high, and tallied 35 RBIs with 10 stolen bases.

Hyatt (Buford, Ga.), who finished her undergraduate degree in parks, recreation and tourism management and just graduated with her master’s in athletic leadership, is second on the team with a .346 contributing 27 hits with a .430 on-base percentage.

 Jacobsen (Tallahassee, Fla.), a graduate transfer from Duke, is working towards her MBA at Clemson after earning a degree in political science. A 2023 All-ACC Third Team selection, she is batting .306 with 12 doubles, 11 home runs, 42 RBIs and 35 runs scored with seven stolen bases.

Miklesh (Stevens Point, Wis.) is working on her masters in athletic leadership after transferring to Clemson from Wisconsin where she earned a degree in health equity with a certificate in sports communication. She was an All-ACC Third Team selection this season after batting .331 with 41 hits, 38 runs, 18 stolen bases and a .465 on-base percentage.

Thompson (Bedford, Va.) is a parks, recreation and tourism management major. She holds a 1.72 ERA with 13 victories, including five solo shutouts. Through 85.1 innings of work, she has struck out 69 batters to be named an All-ACC Third Team honoree for the second time in her career.

To qualify for the honor, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.50, be a sophomore academically and have a year-in-residence at their current school and have appeared in at least 50 percent of the team’s contests.

The 2022-23 Academic All-District® Softball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom.

Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced June 6.
