Oak Ridge, Tenn. – The Clemson novice rowing squad slotted two boats in the top-5 in the Women’s Collegiate Novice 8+ heat at the Secret City Head race, with the 1N8 earning the heat victory and the 2N8 placing fourth.
Taking the race with a time of 19:14.3, the 1N8 boat beat the next fastest competitor by nine seconds and was only one of two teams in the race to finish in under 20 minutes. The 2N8 completed the course in 20:21.4, falling just six seconds behind the next fastest competitor. Additionally, the 3N8 placed 8th (21:28.6), the 4N8 notched 10th (23:27.1) and the 5N8 took 11th (23:46.5).
The Tigers wrap up fall competition on November 17th when they head to the Rivanna Romp in Charlottesville, Va.
